Remembering Jeremy
Jeremy Nathaniel Adams, age 42, died unexpectedly on June 25, 2025, in Front Royal, Virginia. Jeremy was born November 9, 1982, in Great Falls, Montana, and lived most of his life in Chantilly, Virginia. As a child in a military family, he lived in several locations including Montana, the Philippines, Texas, South Dakota, and Virginia.
He is survived by the love of his life, his daughter, Everly Grace Adams, his parents, Lt Col (USAF, ret) Kelly and Sue (Carroll) Adams, and his sister, Kathleen (Katie) Bond Adams. He is also survived by his former spouse and Everly’s mother, Rebecca (Kathleen) Basham, his niece and nephew, Hailey and Hunter Basham and beloved extended family and many special life-long friends.
Jeremy is also survived by his uncles and aunts, Gordon ‘Butch’ (Melanie) Adams, Keith Adams, Liz (Tony) Seals, Janice (Jim) Daves, Jimmy (Margaret) Carroll and Jo Carroll, his cousins, who were such an important part of his childhood, Allison (Junior), Todd (Heather) and Richard Carroll, Craig (Bobbie) Seals, Sarah (Jerry) Porter, and Rebecca Daves.
Jeremy was a dedicated Boy Scout, earning the coveted Eagle Scout Award. His love of the outdoors and love for his country stemmed from his years in Scouts.
Jeremy served with distinction in the US Marine Corps infantry, based in San Diego, CA. During his service, he was deployed to several countries including the Philippines, Thailand, Australia, and Japan. He was deployed to Iraq as an Explosive Detection Dog Handler, working alongside his canine partner, Charlie. Jeremy’s most valued experiences in the Marines were formed through the relationships with his teammates, particularly Charles (Chuck) Carter, his roommate and confidant. Although many of Jeremy’s fellow Marines passed away before him, he consistently held deep appreciation and respect for those who continued to be present in his life.
Jeremy forged his own path in life. It was a road full of joy and sorrows, peaks and valleys. He was a Christian and believed God held a place for him, and he proudly shared this faith with his daughter.
Jeremy’s family cannot begin to comprehend how many lives he touched with his love, warmth, laughter, silliness, and talents in art, building and fixing (and yes, getting into trouble). He has been described as an avid outdoorsman, a Marine, a true craftsman, an artist, a child’s favorite jungle gym, and still is the proudest Daddy.
